Stuffing Forks

     Stuffing Forks have become a staple in the clothdoll industry. Our tool allows you to get small bits of stuffing into thse hard to get to places and gives your project a professional look.

     Getting stuffing where you want it and having it look great is what this tool is all about. With just a little practice you will be like a pro!

     Take a small amount of stuffing and push the unique notched end of our tool into it. Turn the tool in one continuous direction until the stuffing has taken on the look of a long skinny Q-tip. Glide the tool up into the finger of your doll and then back the tool out by holding onto the finger gently. Your finger will now be stuffed all the way up to the top and will have a uniform thickness. For larger areas like noses or small limbs take up larger bits of stuffing and use the same method. You will begin to learn to gauge how much stuffing to wind on according to your project size in to time. When stuffing main areas of your doll or bear do not wind the stuffing on but rather push the stuffing into the limb or body cavity. The notched end will grab the stuffing and help the stuffing go into the desired area easily.

5 Minute Molding Compound

     Use this wonderful synthetic rubber putty to make your face molds. Sets up in 5 minutes, non toxic and best of all the mold is extremely durable. I have one that I have pressed over 400 faces from and it is still perfect. Unlike latex that is messy and easily forms bubbles and extremely toxic this compound will out perform and outlast.

     A simple process of using equal parts of each substance and kneading together to blend. Immerse your sculptures face and leave it in for 5-10 minutes. Pull your original sculpture out and you now have a mold you can use over and over.

     I recommend creating a sculpture without ears so you will not have undercuts on your mold. Draw a line around your original sculpture just forward of the ears encircling the head. Immerse your sculptured face to the line into the blended compound and let set. This is a wonderful mold for resin, wax or paperclay. If using paperclay press your clay into the mold and then pull it out to let your pressed mask air dry.

     I must mention here that you should only be creating molds from your own original sculptures as to not infringe on copyright of others work.

      To help the process along I am offering rubber stamps for the faces. All are offered at each level in terms of the facial features, shading and overall coloration from beginner to advanced. You stamp the facial features onto cloth - color in and then sew up the head and stuff. This is a great learning tool to get you off to a very successful start.

Woven 100% cotton high thread count body fabrics. Excellent weight and grain for coth doll bodies lovely silk finish in 3 colors - Ivory, Parfait and Mocha. Will not open up when stuffed and is lovely for hand painted face detail.

      Combination packs of woven cotton and fine gauge cotton lycra knit in a matched colors. 1 yard of the fine woven, high thread count, cotton fabric and a 6 inch by 60 inch piece of 2 way stretch cotton lycra dyed to match the body fabric. Ideal for soft sculpted dolls. Parfait or Ivory only.

     These paperclay masks support my workshops. They do not come with instructions but are offered for the continuing student to create an additional doll.
